A group of young and politically aware individuals known as Project Youth Emancipation (PYE) have endorsed Nonso Anthony Nwafor. The group made this decision after their first stakeholders meeting in Awka on Tuesday.
The Project Initiator and the converner of the group, Mr Stanley Onwuchekwe confirmed the endorsement. He said that the ambitions of Nonso Anthony Nwafor cannot be extricated from the ambition of an average young person and as such should cut across party lines.
“The vision behind Project Youth Emancipation is to build an army of support around any young, vibrant and competent Aspirant who has shown the capacity to lead”, he said.
He further noted that the major factor limiting young people from making a quantum leap in Nigeria’s political arena is funding and human support.
He went further to say that no establishment or vision can be achieved without the input of young people. “Experience have taught me that without the input and legwork of young people, most heavyweight politicians of our time will not have enjoyed a triving political career”, he said.
“The PYE intends to drum up volunteers that will support young people who are serious about holding elective positions, in achieveing this, we intend to raise media volunteers and volunteer grassroots mobilizers for these Aspirants. Our group will equally reach out to the young at heart in the society who are willing to throw their support on Aspirants like Nonso”, he said.
Onwuchekwe urged young people to take similar steps like Nonso, so as to increase their chances of becoming part of the decision making process, and hence contribute their quota to national development.
The endorsed Aspirant, Nonso Anthony Nwafor equally expressed his gratitude to the group for the confidence they have imposed on him.
While speaking he said: “My ambition to represent the good people of Orumba North in the State Assembly is something that have been well thought out, my people needs a breath of fresh air and this has moved me to present my self for public consideration. I am confident that i will emerge in the primaries and go ahead to win the election. I thank the PYE for finding me worthy of support”, he said.
