Obiano Promises More Investments In Security

Governor Willie Obiano says his administration will in its second term, devote more resources towards strengthening the operations of security agencies in the state to create the enabling environment for increased economic growth.

Governor Obiano stated this during the inauguration of 2017 Pastoral Year of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, held at St James Catholic Church, Neni, Anaocha Council Area.

Governor Obiano explained that part of his government’s efforts to increase the capacity of security agencies include provision of more well equipped security van and other equipment that will enable them capture command and control center of criminals.

Enumerating his achievements in the health and education sector, Governor Obiano commended the church for its partnership with his administration that has contributed significantly towards the improved standard of health and education in the state.

He revealed that 63 health centers across the state have been renovated with nurses’ and doctors’ quarters as a way of improving primary healthcare delivery in the State, adding that by next year, his government will provide them with solar lights for refrigeration of high sensitive injections.

The Governor appealed to the Church to continue to pray for his administration and support him to fully realize its lofty vision for the state.

Earlier, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Dr Paulinus Ezeokafor advised priests to detach themselves from materialism and focus on divine apostolate.

The event was attended by priests from the various parishes in the Diocese.
