APGA Raises Alarm Over Interception Of INEC Sensitive Election Materials In Awka

INEC, to avoid rigging and manipulation of any kind during this month’s gubernatorial election in the state in order to restore the peoples’ confidence in the Nation’s polity.

The APGA National Boss, made the call during a press briefing in his country home at Amawbia following the interception of two lorry loaded with sensitive INEC materials for the Anambra governorship election, yesterday in a hotel at Okpuno, Awka South council area of the state by security agents.

Chief Oye, who described the incident as barbaric and a threat to a free, fare, and credible election in the state in the next few days, regretted that such obvious act of manipulation still occurs in the country at its fifty-seven years as against the expected development and maturity in politics by the citizenry in line with the global trend and called for immediate probe into the matter by the federal government and INEC, to ensure that the people’s votes will count in the election.

He disclosed that the All Progressives Grand Alliance, which he said believes in legality, constitutionality, and legitimacy, would not tolerate any form of rigging and manipulation during the election as its personnel are already prepared to protect their votes at the polls next week.

Chief Oye, disclosed that the incident is still under investigation as APGA would not rest until the mastermind is apprehended and brought to book.

He however expressed optimism on the party’s victory in the election, as according to him the good governance of Governor Willie Obiano is obvious to all.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Chief Ifeatu Obiokoye, was also present at the event.
